Аdopted the pet welfare law establishing EU standards

The European Parliament today adopted the pet welfare law establishing EU standards by 457 votes in favour, 17 against and 86 abstentions. MEPs voted in favour of mandatory identification and registration by veterinarians of all dogs and cats kept in the EU and traceability for all those entering the EU. Traceability saves pets’ lives, helps reunite lost animals, curbs illegal trade and protects public health.
